American Royals (#1 American Royals) by Katharine McGee review

Hey ForeverBookers,   I’ve just finished American Royals by Katherine McGee and I LOVED it! If you love scandal and complicated love stories in a contemporary setting, then you will love it as well! Think a royal version of Gossip Girl and you have this book in a nutshell. American Royals follows six characters, all of the new adult age range that come together to create a story of intrigue and romance. There isn’t high action or really a plot outside of the romance which was fine with me as I really enjoy stories just focused on the romance. I appreciated how “American Royals” only focused on the six different characters. There weren’t loads of personalities to get to know, and they all followed the same pattern as they’re all from or have grown up around a certain standing in society. This made the characters easy to follow and understand. It is a character led story, without as I said, much plot.  What there is of a plot of American Royals is taken up with the ascension of ...

Red Rising (Red Rising #1) by Pierce Brown Review

Hi ForeverBookers, How are you all today? I hope you’re good! I’ve just finished “Red Rising” by Pierce Brown and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!!! “Red Rising” is a sci-fi novel that takes our protagonist, Darrow on a quest to help save his planet, Mars from the ArchGovenor, an evil head of state character. Teenager, Darrow has lived on Mars for most of his young life. He was born on Earth, but now works as a “helldiver,” , a figure that prepares Mars, in this case for habitation. They are like road workmen with big drills on Earth. That’s how I saw them anyway. The main plot of Red Rising takes off when Darrow’s wife, yes, wife at 13 years old, is killed by the ArchGovenor for just singing a song! That was pretty unbelievable but in some countries, I suppose it can happen. “Red Rising” is really a novel of discovery and change as well as of course revenge! Darrow isn’t aware of everything he is at the end of the novel at the beginning. He learns a lot throughout.   I re...

The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune Review

Hi foreverBookers, How are you all? I hope you’re well!   Yesterday, I finished “The House in the Cerulean Sea” by TJ Klune and I really LOVED it! It was wholesome and just cute on all levels. There wasn’t a huge threat or anything but it really kept me gripped. It was humorous as well as emotional and boy, did my heart stop, and almost break in a few scenes!  The House In The Cerulean Sea follows Linus, a middle aged man who has a run of the mill office job at the beginning of the story. But when the powers above, at his job call him to a meeting that all changes pretty quickly. Linus is called upon by DICOMY (The Department In Charge of Magical Youth) to go and see an orphanage in a town right at the end of the country. It’s the last stop on the train route. What does he find here at this orphanage? Well, six children, but they’re children with a difference. First, Talia, a female gnome with a beard, Chauncey, a luminous green blob who dreams of becoming a bellhop...
