Potkin And Stubbs (Potkin And Stubbs #1) by Sophie Green Review

Hi ForeverBookers, How are you all? Did you have a good Christmas? I hope you did! I’ve just finished Potkin And Stubbs by Sophie Green and I LOVED it! This story isn’t a romance in the slightest but I found it very entertaining! It’s a middle grade/YA mystery novel about a young girl, Lil who meets this boy Ned or Nedley as he prefers to be known. I don’t love YA/middle grade romances anymore, but I love other genres of this specification, the Famous Five series by Enid Blyton, for example. That’s why Potkin and Stubbs worked so well for me, I think.  I read Potkin and Stubbs for two readathons, this time: Always Fully booked Challenge 2024 - A Staff Pick from a store or library  - I can remember when I bought Potkin and Stubbs when it had just been released in 2019, there was a staff write up about it in my local Waterstones! That was part of the reason I bought it as well as it being one of my favourite booktubers favourites when she read it too! Always Fully Booked - On Th...

The Christmas Carrolls (The Christmas Carrolls #1) by Mel Taylor-Bessent

Hey ForeverBookers,   I’ve just finished   “The Christmas Carrolls”  by Mel Taylor-Bessent and I REALLY LOVED it again!!!  5 Stars!!! “The Christmas Carrolls”  is told from the perspective of Holly Carroll, a young girl who’s grown up around Christmas! Literally everything is Christmassy for her family from the clothes they wear, to the food they eat, to their Christian names, Holly’s mother even changed her name to Snow so it fit more in line with the festive theme. When the Carrolls get news that they can move into their dream house on Santa Clause Lane in England they of course jump at the chance! Is it everything they hope for? You’ll need to read to find out! I read  “The Christmas Carrolls”  for a few readathons. They were: Reading Rivalry - Jingle Bell Rock -  this song gives me the warm fuzzies. And so did this book!  Always Fully Booked 2024 Reading Challenge - A Book Set In Your Country -  I live in the UK and this takes...

Operation Nativity by Jenny Pearson Review!

Hi ForeverBookers, I have read something else before the end of the year! I’ve just finished Operation Nativity by Jenny Pearson and I absolutely LOVED it! It was SUCH a quick read because it was sooooo funny and entertaining because of the characters! 5 Stars! Operation Nativity tells the story of Oscar, a young boy, who just so happens needs to save Christmas to save the world as he knows it with the help of his hilarious little sister, Molly, a wise man, the angel Gabriel and Mary and Joseph. There are serious stories going on at the same time, about loss of a loved one and the nativity. There’s also entertaining artwork as well!  I read Operation Nativity for a few readathons. They were: Reading Rivalry - Last Christmas  - because it’s Oscar’s Grandfather’s last healthy Christmas!  Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge - A 2023 Award Winning Book -  The Laugh Out Loud Book Award! Always Fully Booked - On The Cover Challenge -  Glasses - Grandmother we...

Five Run Away Together (The Famous Five #3) by Enid Blyton

Hey ForeverBookers, I’ve just finished “Five Run Away Together,” The Famous Five #3 by Enid Blyton and I LOVED it! I read “Five Go Adventuring Again,” the second novel in the series, which I loved this sort of time last year. I certainly don’t regret reading this, either! It was quick and easy, even making notes, probably because it’s intended for a younger audience, but it was soooooooo fun too! 5 stars! In “Five Run Away Together” we see our four protagonists, George, Julian, Dick and Anne and their but more George’s dog, Timmy go on an adventure of escape when Aunt Francis, George’s mother gets ill and has to go away to what we assume is a hospital with Uncle Quentin. This, of course leaves the children alone, or so they wish! This series is set in the 1940’s/1950’s so back then children had to be looked after. This of course means that Fanny and Quentin need a housekeeper. Joanna, the old housekeeper/cook left, so Mrs Stick comes to work in her stead. She brings her son, E...
