Hey ForeverBookers, How are you all doing? I hope you’re well.  Last night, I finished “Happy Place,”  by Emily Henry and I really enjoyed it. It’s been on my summer TBR for a few years and I just haven’t gotten to it. Now I have :).  4 Stars! “Happy Place” tells the story of Harriet and Wyn, two individuals that are meant to be in love and to their friends, still are. However, they know that they’ve been on a break for a few months before the story starts. Why? What caused the rift between the two main characters? I’ll let you read for yourself but I enjoyed it, especially the second half of the novel, that I basically read in a day! When Harriet and Wyn have to come back together to celebrate the engagement and wedding of two of their best friends at the cottage they once all shared harmoniously can they keep the secret of them splitting up?   Hey ForeverBookers,   How are you all? I’m very hot in the UK heatwave.  I’ve just finished  “Mixed Signals”  by B.K. Borison and while I enjoyed it, it was quite tedious and not very memorable.  2.5 Stars! “Mixed Signals”  is told from both our main characters’ perspectives, like the other books in this series have been. It’s got a really simple plot, which made it kind of tedious to read as u said above. I would have liked a little more tension in the romance, rather than an easy time.  I read Mixed Signals for a few readathons. They were: RR - Midfield -  I’ve interpreted this as mid in terms of how much I liked the book. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. It was very midfield for me! I’ve just finished “Off to the Races” by Elsie Silver and I loved it! “Off to the Races” is the first book in the “Gold Rush Ranch” series by Elsie Silver. It’s her first cowboy romance series. She’s since had 2 other series set in a cowboy/ranch setting and is releasing another one at the moment. The first book in that one is released at the moment. I want to read them in order, although I have read both “Flawless” and “Heartless” already but that was before I knew her backlog! Now I’m starting at the beginning.  “Off to the Races” tells the story of Vaughn and Billie. Vaughn is a tough, no nonsense business man at the beginning of the story. He has to hire a new horse handler for his ranch. Billie is the person he hires. At first he’s unaware she’s a girl. Can they work together to train a certain, black horse called Double Diablo, or DD as Billie lovingly calls him. Or are they at odds from the...

Hey ForeverBookers, How are you all today? I hope you’re well! I’ve just finished reading “Birthday” by Meredith Russo, and I really enjoyed it!   4 stars! “Birthday” is told in birthdays of our main characters, two teenagers called Morgan and Eric as they grow from young boys into 18 year olds. We only see scenes from their birthdays though, and one of them isn’t the boy he’s made out to be. He’s a girl. Back when this was published, in 2019, this was more a contentious point, however now - 7 years later - it’s more accepted to be trans, I feel. Not that I am trans. I just don’t see things in the news about it as much. Eric, the character that remains a boy throughout has problems with his dad. His dad is a judgemental soccer coach, who only wants for his son to succeed in what HE wants him to, while Morgan, the character who transitions throughout grows in confidence thanks to their family.
