Hey ForeverBookers, (I forgot to post this when I finished reading The Princess Diaries - Takes Two by Meg Cabot so here’s my review for it in real time…) I’ve just finished reading The Princess Diaries - Takes Two by Meg Cabot and I loved it. It a really fun and entertaining read. I thought it hinged more on adult than it maybe should have but I think that a mature Young Adult reader could read it still. Mia, our FMC comes across as grown up while being a fourteen-sixteen year old.  3 stars!  I read this for Reading Rivalry - Passing On Your Legacy - no one dies in this book but eventually, Clarisse will pass on the royalty of Genova to Mia, as that’s where I was going with this.  Spoilers Below… “It is so incredibly embarrassing.   Hi ForeverBookers, How are you? I hope you’re good! I’ve just finished reading “Lore Olympus, Volume 1” and I really enjoyed it. It’s a graphic novel so an easy read.  I read “Lore Olympus, Volume One” for: Reading Rivalry -  Read a book set in 2 different worlds. The mortal realm and the underworld both feature. Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge, 2026 -  A book hyped on social media - Lore Olympus had sooooooo much hype when it was released!  This won’t be an in depth review but just to sum up the main points: In “Lore Olympus, Volume 1” we follow Persephone, our FMC. She wants to go to the underworld, after having been raised in the mortal realm. Her mother, Demeter doesn’t want to let her go, but after Persephone promises to train as a virgin she allows her her freedom.   Hi ForeverBookers,   Last night I read the first volume of BINTI by Nnedi Okarafor. I surprisingly REALLY enjoyed it! It’s a short novella but certainly packed a punch! We follow our FMC, Binti who is wanting to become a student at the famous Oomza University to study maths and become a “master harmonizer .”  This is someone who wants to understand how the universe is put together. She has to travel far to the planet of Oomza University, yes, a whole planet is dedicated to being a university, to do this. On her voyage she is joined by various young people, including her crush, Heru. He doesn’t have any page time, apart from being murdered by the Koush people. These people invade her ship, “The Third Fish” and kill everyone but her and the driver. What happens from there? I’ll let you read for yourself but it’s very good and rather interesting. Hey ForeverBookers,  I’ve just finished “The Girl Who Speaks Bear” by Sophie Anderson and I really enjoyed it. It was an easy middle-grade, stand-alone read but it had a serious message behind the text.  “The Girl Who Speaks Bear” is about our FMC, Yanka and how she believes she’s different from everyone else around her. She doesn’t like being different. Does this change throughout the novel? She also has three animal companions that she meets throughout the story, as well as a faithful companion in Mousetrap. He’s a squirrel that she tames from before the novel starts. She can trust Mousetrap, maybe more than any other character. She uncovers secrets about herself and makes discoveries that change who she is as a girl. I read “The Girl Who Speaks Bear” for a few readathons. Hey ForeverBookers, How are you all today? I hope you’re well! I’ve just finished reading “A Feather So Black” by Lyra Selene and I LOVED it! It’s a fantasy. I thought it was a take on the Swan Princess when I started reading it, but I didn’t find many similarities, apart from the swan maiden. It was still a really good story though.  We start with Fia, a young girl who doesn’t know where she’s come from. She was the ‘twin’ of another girl, Eala. Eala has been taken away from her home. Their mother, the High Queen wants Fia to go and find Eala, with Eala’s intended, Rogan by her side. What the High Queen doesn’t know is Eala isn’t the girl she was when she was younger. How/why? I’ll let you read for yourself. The romance was really what interested me the most in “A Feather So Black.” First we have, Prince Rogan who Fia loves with everything she has at the beginning.   I finished  “Hooked”  by Emily McIntyre a few weeks ago now and I surprisingly really enjoyed it. I didn’t think I would because it means more into the dark romance genre, which I don’t generally like, but this one was good. I forgot about posting this review.  4 Stars! In  “Hooked”  we primarily follow two characters, Wendy and Hook, also known as James. We see the story through both of their perspectives. Wendy is very naive at the beginning of  “Hooked.”  She’s been protected from life, until she meets Hook. Hook isn’t an evil character as you may think. No, he’s been used and abused and finds his ‘right’ with Wendy! Can they keep what they’ve built in  “Hooked,” or do the evil characters keep them apart?
