Barbarian’s Prize (Ice Planet Barbarians #5) by Ruby Dixon

Hey ForeverBookers,

How are you all today? I hope you’re good!

I’ve just read “Barbarian’s Prize” by Ruby Dixon and I LOVED it! The “Ice Planet Barbarians” books are very simple stories, at least so far but they have sweet, tender, loving romances which I just eat up and adore!

4.5 Stars!

In “Barbarian’s Prize” we follow Tiffany as our FMC. She’s haunted by terrible nightmares of the evil aliens that brought the women to Non-Hoth. She’s also one of the only two women who hasn’t been mated to a Sa-Khui alien. She’s wondering why that is. Our MMC is Salukh. I loved him! He was sooooo caring toward Tiffany! As I noted above, Tiffany is one of two inmates females, the other being Josie. The aliens are set trials to get Tiffany’s favour. Who succeeds. You’ll have to read to find out…

I read “Barbarians Prize” for a few readathons. They were:

Reading Rivalry - Fly On The Wall - ALL of the Sa-Khui aliens that haven’t mated want Tiffany. She’s a fly on the wall in the sense that she’s the one they all want!

Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge 2026 - Book by an indie author - Ruby Dixon started as an indie author so is considered as one still.

Always Fully Booked Reading Rainbow Challenge - Purple - Most of the cover is purple.

Spoilers below…

“You wish to practice in the furs.” His intense look pins me in place. “I wish to be the male you practice with.”

My eyes widen. He wants to go for what I suggested? “I thought you were waiting for resonance?”

I have changed my mind. I wish to pleasure you.”

I feel my cheeks heat at those bold words. “Um, wow. That’s very nice of you. But you really don’t have to—“

“Make no mistake, Tee-fan-nee. This is my decision. I have thought many hours about how fine it would be to touch you, and I am eager to make you scream with pleasure instead of fear.”

For some reason Tiffany hasn’t resonated to a Sa-Khui alien yet. She wonders why this is throughout. Is there something wrong with her? She’s scared to have sex with one of the Sa-Khui after her experience with the horrible green aliens that captured the women from Earth. Can Saluhk make her see that not all aliens are evil?

The part that I didn’t love of this book was the competition aspect. Luckily, this wasn’t focused on for very long. Josie, the other unmated female suggests the competition to see who can ‘win’ Tiffany’s affections.

“What did you tell them?” I ask.

“Well I tried to think of a way to get them out of your hair without hurting their feelings. And so when I woke up . . . I told them about the Miss America pageant.”

       Huh?

My confusion must show on my face. Josie grins. “A competition,” she says. “They’re going to compete against each other to show you who is the strongest and most clever of the lot. Right now, they’re competing to see who can down the snow-cat with the nicest pelt since we’re low on those.”

Four of the aliens want Tiffany. It’s obvious if you read the blurb who she chooses and eventually resonates to but I enjoyed all of the interactions between Tiffany and her mate specifically. There were lots of scenes of Tiffany and her mate together, perhaps more than in the other books.

Lastly then, at around page 100, we get our first intimate scene. “Heck, I want all of him. I’m greedy.”I love the intimate scenes in all of these books and from this point to the end there are quite a few.

Overall then, I loved Barbarians Prize. Theres not much plot but the character interactions totally make up for that in my eyes! That’s why I’m giving “Barbarian’s Prize” 4.5 stars! I enjoyed the Ice Planet Honeymoon too!
