The Hour Of Dreams by Shelena Shorts NO SPOILER review

Hi ForeverBookers,  It's taken me a long time to read and review this book (the fourth book of The Pace series) but that was honestly because I found it really boring. It's nothing like the other 3 books. I personally think it's better as a trilogy.  There's more progression with two of the side characters than the main characters of this book in my opinion.  I felt that the two main characters (Sophie and Wes) just stayed in the same position throughout the story. I thought that the big thing that happens to Wes in this book would have been the main point of this book but it just wasn't.  I actually found the past scenes between Pheobe and William more riveting and that wasn't the point to the story I feel. The plot to this book could have been a lot better.  I give this book two stars because the writing was okay. The story gets a one star from me though. What started out as a great series has just ended badly. I still highly recommend the other 3 books but ju

The Iron Quill by Shelena Shorts Review.

This is the 3rd instalment in Shelena Short's The Pace series.  This book starts quite slowly but it definitely picks up its pace (no pun intended) about 100 pages in.  The series follows a young woman who meets a guy who has secrets. In the first book they meet and fall in love, the second book shows some development of that love and some of the issues the characters face and the third book continues that development and is quite heart wrenching at moments.  The main issue  I had with this book were that in the first 100 or so pages we saw from another character's perspective as well as the main girl's alternatively. This character doesn't have a huge role in the series (up till the end of book 3 anyway). The story does really develop in this book as we see the characters reveal certain things to certain people and events happen that you might not expect.  It's still a very "love" based story but nothing indecent or sexual is mentioned, although the act i

The Broken Lake NO SPOILER Review.

Hi ForeverBookers,  The Broken Lake is the second book in The Pace series by Shelena Shorts. It follows a young adult girl who falls in love with a guy who's almost immortal.  The Pace (book 1) ended on a cliffhanger so we see how that has affected the two main characters at the beginning of the book. The story just really continues on with the mystery and it is a really great book and series if you like romance. If you don't like romance the I really wouldn't start reading this as it's very romance heavy.  The end of the book is okay as it leads to the third book in the series, so yes...another cliffhanger!  I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because it wasn't as good as the first but certainly wasn't terrible either.  The thing that I didn't like so much were that more of the story was based on the friendships with side characters than the actual romance. That's why it didn't quite get 5 stars from me. However, I did love a certain scene toward the

The Pace NO SPOILER Review!

Hi ForeverBookers,  I've just finished reading The Pace by Shelena Shorts for the 3rd time (the last time I read it was years ago).  5 stars!  It's a really good story with a very romantic plot. The romance starts from early on in the book, which is great for me. There is no love triangle, which again is great as I hate reading books where the main character just goes back and forth between 'loves' and there's no real progression with the love story.  The main character Sophie is a girl who hasn't really experienced love before. She meets the main male character Wes after bumping into his car with her's. Then there's this sweet romantic story (I don't want to give away spoilers) that unfolds between them with a few surprises along the way.  The Pace is the first book in a 4 book series, all of which are now released. I advise this book for anyone who likes sweet romance. It's aimed at teens although anyone who enjoys this genre will like it. My o

My First TBR series.

Hi ForeverBookers,  This morning I picked the first series from my TBR pot. It was The Pace Series by Shelena Shorts. I read this a few years ago. It's a YA 4 book series that features romance and discovery from what I remember.  Stand by for a review in a few days when I've finished #1 (The Pace) :).

TBR Jar

Hi ForeverBookers,  I've just sorted a TBR Jar for myself! (TBR means "to be read" for anyone who doesn't know).  I'll use this before I start reading the next novel I choose :) (I'm not counting manga in it).  I'm going to read One Piece Volume 3 by Eiichiro Oda, which is a manga next.

The Legend Trilogy Review

Hi ForeverBookers,  Today I'm writing my first review. It won't have any spoilers in it because I don't want to give anything away if you haven't read the series yet. Anyway, the review is for The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu!  This book series is a dystopian series, which I haven't read many of. I liked it a lot.  The books basically tell a dystopian story of a girl and a boys search for freedom.  There were a couple of minimal things that I would change if I could: * I'd slow the pacing down a little especially in the first book, as the chapters are so short, and some of the big events that happen are finished within a chapter.  * I don't understand why there is a rose on the front cover of Champion (the 3rd book) as roses don't feature in the story. I guess it might be about purity and finding oneself? This isn't really to do with the story but just something that I picked up on. I thought that the second book was much slower than book 1 and book 3.

Booktube?

Who likes watching Booktube?  Or do you even have a booktube account?  I like watching it but I don't have an account yet. I might do in the future though :)!
