Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles Book 4.5) by Marissa Meyer Review.

Hi ForeverBookers,  I've just finished reading Stars Above by Marissa Meyer. I thought this collection of novella's was good.  1) The Keeper...4 Stars. 2) Glitches...4 Stars. 3) The Queen's Army...2.5 Stars. 4) Carlswell's Guide To Being Lucky...4 Stars 5) After Sunshine Passes By...3 Stars 6) The Princess And Her Guard...5 Stars. 7) The Little Android...2 Stars 8) The Mechanic...3 Stars 9) Something Old, Something New...5 Stars I don't really want to put what happens in each novella as that kind of takes away the point of reading them I think. As you can see my ratings were different for many of the novellas. I will say The Little Android was my least favourite because we hardly get to see any of the main characters in that one. Just Cinder and only for a little amount of time. For me, my favourite was the last one - Something Old, Something New because of the closure it gives to the series.  Let me know in the comments below if you'd like a more detailed revie

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles Book 4) by Marissa Meyer

Hey ForeverBookers, YES! It's happened - I've finished Winter! For a mega sized book it really didn't seem to take too long to complete surprisingly.  Spoilers if you haven't read any of the Lunar Chronicles books in the summary below...  The final novel of the Lunar Chronicles sets up and shows us the war between Cinder (or Princess Selene as she's also known) and her comrades while they go up against the evil Queen Levana and basically all of Lunar (Queen Levana's Kingdom). Winter takes part entirely on Luna (apart from a chapter or two at the beginning which take place on Thorne's ship). The author could really delve in and make her own fantasy world here, which was cool to read about.  Spoilers for Winter below... We obviously see chapters with all of our favourite characters in. Winter and Jacin become main characters here. We see both of them in Cress but they get their own personalities in Winter more. Winter, herself is a little crazy because her ste

Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles Book 3.5) by Marissa Meyer Review

Hi ForeverBookers,  I'm surprised to say that I really enjoyed Fairest because I don't normally enjoy novella's because they're so much shorter than the novels of a series. Fairest tells the story of Queen Levana's life years before Cinder starts. I'm NOT a fan of Levana by any means but I actually felt kind of sorry for her reading this book.  Spoilers below... I thought that Levana's sister, Channary was really cruel to her. This surprised me as we normally only get one real villain in a series but here, we have two. It's revealed that Channary is the reason behind Levana's burns and disfigured face as she pushed her little sister into a fire when they were children.  Also there was a lot of romance in Fairest. This surprised me again as I thought it was going to be more a book of revenge before I started it, which it was also but the amount of romance, however unrequited it was surprised me still. Basically, Evret, a guard is introduced in the fir

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles Book 3) by Marissa Meyer Review

Hi ForeverBookers, Wow - where do I start! I LOVED Cress! This is the 3rd instalment in The Lunar Chronicles so you DO need to read both Cinder and Scarlet first as it's a continuing storyline throughout the series.  The main character of this book, Cress was put on a satellite by herself when she was a child. She hasn't had anyone to communicate with, apart from Mistress Sybil - the thaumaturge who put her on the Satellite under Queen Levana's orders. That is until Cinder, Scarlet, Thorne and Wolf come to her because they're in need of her help to save the world from Levana. Cress is very tech savvy so that's why they're in need of her assistance. Cinder communicates with Cress and tells her a time that they'll come and save her in their Rampion spaceship. Cress is overjoyed as she's spent over 10 years alone on her satellite with no one but her computer or "little Cress" to communicate with.  However, this goes awry when Sybil comes to check

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles Book 2) by Marissa Meyer Review

Hi again ForeverBookers,  I've just finished Scarlet and wow, it was fantastic!  The book starts from where Cinder ended with Cinder in jail. She gets to another cell holding another prisoner - Captain Thorne. He is another main character of this series. They escape from the prison, barely.  While this is happening we're introduced to two new characters. Scarlet, who is worried about the location of her Grandmère (she's French) and Wolf, a vigilante who's escaped his pack. I enjoyed reading about these two characters. They had their funny moments as well as dramatic and even romantic moments.  Cinder and Thorne find it hard to get on to begin with but they are comrades fighting for the same cause, to strip evil Queen Levana of any right to rule the earth. Cinder is keeping the secret of her really being Princess Selene from everyone, even Iko (her best friend, who becomes a spaceship in Scarlet). She reveals who she is at the very end of the book as that is the only way

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles Book 1) by Marissa Meyer Review

Hi ForeverBookers,  I've just finished Cinder, and it was great!  The author brings in elements of the classic tale entitled Cinderella but puts a whole new twist on the story by making it a futuristic sci-fi tale.   The book starts with Cinder, a girl just working at a garage in New Beijing on earth. New Beijing is what was once our Beijing today. Cinder mends and fixes things for a living to pay for her keep. She was adopted by a family. Adri, her "stepmother" doesn't want her though. It was her father figure that bought her into their lives when he found her somewhere that's not explained until later in the book. Her father figure died before the events of the book start taking place, just like Cinderella's real father dies in the tale before the book begins. In the first chapter we meet Prince Kai. He's the son of the Emporer. Prince Kai wants Cinder to fix his android (a robot) because he needs some important information from it. It's revealed lat
