My 2019 Bookish Wrap Up - What were my favourite reads of this year?

Hey ForeverBookers,  Happy New Year (almost!) did you all have a fantastic Christmas? I know I sure did! Below are my favourite reads of 2019! When writing the list I was able to just remember who the author to each book was, which doesn’t always happen for me. I often have to go back and look but because all of these books were so good, the authors names were cemented in my memory. My number 1 and number 10 were NetGalley arcs. I WILL get back to reading those in 2020, as I have lots stocked up. I read and enjoyed a vast amount of genres this year, everything from middle grade fantasy, to sexy romance (of couse 😉), to horror!  See my list below (I’ve linked each review after each book mentioned.)  I got quite far in my Popsugar 2019 challenge, as you can see above (those high Kit in pink were what I managed to complete!) I’ll work on actually finishing it in 2020 along with the Little Inklings Design challenges, as I got a planner for Christmas, which I’m soooooooo excited

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Review

Hi ForeverBookers,  This will be my last review before Christmas I expect, as it’s my birthday tomorrow and I won’t read much between then and Christmas, so I’ll say “Happy Christmas” to everyone now! I hope you all have a fantastic day and get lots of nice presents! I’ve just finished “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern and I surprisingly really enjoyed it. It's been the year of me enjoying standalone books in 2019! I started  “The Night Circus”  a couple of years ago as a buddyread but my buddy and I had a disagreement so I gave up on it. When I gave up on it the first time I wasn’t very far into it, maybe a quarter of the way and it’s a slow book so not much had happened by that point. It’s a very enchanting book and the characters do suck you in, though. “The Night Circus” is a fantasy book as it has magical elements but it’s set in our world. We see London and New York for instance, as well as other places, although the places talked about are set mainly within th

Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks Review.

Hey ForeverBookers,  A quick, little review from me today. I really enjoyed Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell. It’s a quick, cute contemporary with a funny and charming story. There’s disability rep too.  5 Stars! I read Pumpkin Heads for a few readathons! Those being: The Cardcaptor-a-thon - The Dash - Read a book you know you can read speedily. Although I didn’t read it particularly speedily this year, I know I could next year, for example - #13. Reading Rivalry - Book from the centre of your TBR - I started this the day before Halloween, because it’s a Halloween read. I wouldn’t have read it yet otherwise.  Fiction Fe ud Society - Name A Profession children might want to have when they grow up - I would have wanted to have been a Pumpkin Head.  Popsugar Reading Challenge 2019 - A book that takes place in a single day - Pumpkin Heads tells of Deja and Josiah’s last day at the Pumpkin Patch before college. Our main characters are Deja and Josiah, Josie. Deja is very ma

IT by Stephen King Review

Hi foreverBookers,  I’m sorry that it’s been so long since you’ve heard from me! I’ve been busy, as well as reading the LONGEST book of my life (no kidding), “IT” by Stephen King! It was an okay book, I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it either. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to love it. I thought it would get a 3 or a 4 star rating. 3.5 Stars (4 on Goodreads)! I read IT for a couple of readathons: The Cardcaptor-a-thon - The Earthy Card - Read a book you find  intimidating - IT is very intimidating because of its size!  - #12 I started reading IT for September’s Reading Rivalry so I can’t count it toward any of the reading prompts because it needed to be finished in the month of September, so I’ll count page points for how many pages I read in the month of November, which was 293 pages. Your favourite prompt from a past Popsugar Reading Challenge - A book that’s more than 600 pages - IT, which is 1,156 pages long. I think I possibly did this prompt bef

Our Dark Duet (#2 Monsters Of Verity) by Victoria Schwab

Hey ForeverBookers,  How are you all today? I hope you’re well!  I’ve just finished “Our Dark Duet” by Victoria Schwab and I really enjoyed it. It’s book 2 in the “Monsters Of Verity” duology, so it’s the last book that follows these characters. I gave “This Savage Song” (“Monsters Of Verity” #1) 5 stars and was really surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did.  4 Stars for “ Our Dark Duet”! “Our Dark Duet” follows the same two characters primarily, as in “This Savage Song,” Kate Harker and August Flynn. Kate has moved to a new city, Prosperity, since the events of “This Savage Song.” Life is a lot simpler and she has a new group of friends there. What takes her back to Verity? You’ll have to read to find out!  “Our Dark Duet” is written in four parts, which made it really easy to read. I read about a part a day. The parts are titled something to do with becoming a monster. I won’t say exactly why, just that it’s a journey for each character.  The read

Crown Of Midnight (Throne Of Glass #2) by Sarah J Maas Review

Hey Foreverbookers, How are you all doing today? Hope you’re well!  I’ve just finished reading “Crown Of Midnight” by Sarah J Maas and I absolutely LOVED it!!! I thought it would be boring as it’s book two in a series but it was anything but. I don’t think I was bored once, while I was reading it! The book is split into two different parts. This was necessary to see Celaena’s growth as a character. I’m not going to go into great depth below with the spoilers because “Crown Of Midnight” is a fantasy and it’s always better to be surprised I think, rather than just told straight what happens as anything can be created or made to happen in a fantasy world, so I’ll summarise the significant points. For Crown Of Midnight I literally had 175 pages of notes typed up on my computer for this review so I’ve really condensed what I wanted to say.  5 Stars!!!!! The Readathons that I read Crown Of Midnight for were: NEWTS examinations - I read “Crown Of Midnight” to complete

Red, White And Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston Review

Hey ForeverBookers,  How are you all doing this Tuesday? I’m feeling great because I just finished “Red, White And Royal Blue” by Casey McQuiston, and I don’t know what it is about standalones this year, but the few that I’ve read have been AMAZING!!!!!! Most of the ones that I’ve read so far were released earlier this year and have got 5 stars from me! “Red, White And Royal Blue” is no exception either, as I found it to be incredibly relevant and serious, while still having a light and funny take on the events too!  I would love a sequel following these characters later in life...  I buddyread this with a Facebook friend. They’re still reading it but they’re also loving it.   5 Stars (as I’ve already said!) Our main characters are two boys in their early twenties. One of them is Alex, First Son of the United States of America (a female President’s Son), and the other is Henry, Prince Of England. “What happens when America’s First Son falls in love with the Prince o
