Timeless (Alexia Tarabotti Series Book 5) by Gail Carriger Review.

Hi ForeverBookers! Wow - I've just finished this series with the final book Timeless and it was REALLY good!

5 Stars!

It's set a few years after Heartless, book 4 finishes. Alexia and Conall's daughter, Prudence is a toddler now. Both Alexia and Conall, along with Prudence and Ivy, and her family, as well as Madame Lefoux go to Egypt to see Matakana, an ancient vampire and to see what the God Breaker Plague is doing to the supernaturals in Egypt. The majority of the book is set in Egypt with these characters, however we still get a few scenes with the likes of Lyall, Biffy, two of Lord Maccon's pack as well as Lord Akeldama and Lady Kingair in England

Spoilers below...

The reason that Alexia and Conall go to Egypt is to try and uncover the truth behind their friend and pack member's death. When they get there, they're taken to see Matakana. She lives a horrible life, however. She has to keep living for her people as they would die if she died. However, she doesn't want to keep living. Matakana is stuck in a chair like contraption because she's too old to still be alive. Alexia can see how unhappy Matakana is.

While this is going on in Egypt, we see Lyall and Biffy get closer in England. This book shows LGBT relationships, which is good. Biffy, it's discovered is of alpha quality, as he can take on the Anubis form, something only Alphas can do. He's young so it's rare but with training he will one day take over Lord Maccon's pack.

Back to Egypt, Ivy and Tunstall follow Alexia and Conall because Ivy is a part of the Parasol Protectorate, the secret band of protectors against the evil/wrong. They go as part of their acting troop as Matakana wants to see their performance. Ivy is just as funny in this book as she has been in the previous books. She has more of a role to play in this book. I won't spoil why, exactly but she's necessary towards the end of the novel. Ivy's daughter, Primrose is taken instead of Alexia's daughter. Alexia, Conall, Ivy, Tunstall, Madame Lefoux as well as the minor characters in Egypt do everything to get her back. This leads to a big battle scene.

Instead of dirigibles, in Egypt the characters fly by hot air balloon. They do this when they're trying to find Primrose. They have to fly over the God Breaker Plague. Conall doesn't like this because werewolves don't like flying but Alexia can't cross through it on foot, otherwise she'll feel sick because of the preternatural mummies, so Conall doesn't mind. The English characters get shot at here. Do Conall, Alexia and Prudence make it through? You'll have to read to find out!

NOTE: there are other bits that I have left out of this review as well because it would be too long.

Well, I loved this book. It was funny and light hearted as well as being serious in some aspects. I laughed out loud in a couple of places. I liked how the author took relationships of the characters and kept them as some authors change up the relationships throughout series'. I like how these stayed the same throughout. It wrapped up nicely as well. Gail Carriger has a YA series that follows this one so I might pick that up at some point.

Stand by for my next review soon...

Heartless (Chestnut Springs #2) by Elsie Silver Review

Hey ForeverBookers,   I’m back! I’ve finished another book!  “ Heartless”   by Elsie Silver was AMAZING!!!! I absolutely LOVED it!!! This is book 2 in the “Chestnut Springs” series and it’s about Cade, Rhett’s brother from “Flawless,” #1, and his romance with Willa, Summer’s, from book 1’s best friend.  I read Heartless for a few readathons  Reading Rivalry - Multiple POV - “ Heartless” is told from both Willa and Cade’s perspectives. Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge - Book set in Canada - I   believe Chestnut Springs is set in the Rockies.   Always Fully Booked “On the Cover” Reading Challenge - A Musical Instrument - A guitar ! Willa, our FMC plays guitar.  Reading the Rainbow challenge - pastel - the background of the  “ Heartless”   cover is pastel blue!  “ Heartless”   had EVERYTHING I love, an FMC who’s stuck in life, a wild, yet sensitive MMC, funny moments, cute scenes, spicy scenes, heartfelt ...

Her Majesty’s Royal Coven (HMRC #1) by Juno Dawson Review

Hey ForeverBookers, How are you all? Hope you’re good! I’ve just finished  “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  by Juno Dawson and I surprisingly really enjoyed it! I didn’t think I’d hate it but I thought it would be 3 stars, but it turns out it’s a 4 star read for me, maybe even a 4.5! It had a lot of things I like but some parts were forgettable, like the names of the lesser used characters. The plot, though was solid! I’m a character over plot person, as you’d know through reading my other reviews, but the main/most prominent character from this book, Niamh will be my favourite, I’m sure! I think that’s why I’ve rated  “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  so highly! 4 Stars! “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  tells the story of a coven of witches that need to save or at least help a young male witch who’s more than he seems. Niamh, who I’d say is the main character of the current witches has a twin sister called Ciara who has had her power stripped before the book starts! Why, yo...

Rebound (The Pentagon Book 1) by Rosemary Rey Review

Hey ForeverBookers,  How are you all doing today? I hope you’re well!  I’ve just finished rereading Rebound by Rosemary Rey and I loved it! From recollection I loved it the first time I read it as well, about 5 years ago.  5 Stars! I read this for a few readathons: For Reading Rivalry - A book I think should be turned into a movie - I’d love to see this play out on television, actually but a movie is close enough.  For Litwits - A love story - that’s the central plot of Rebound and the whole Pentagon trilogy.  Literary Love Affair - Soulmate Love - Perla and Matt are what I class as realistic soulmates. Popsugar Reading Challenge 2019 - A book by an author whose first and last names start with the same letter - Rosemary Rey.  Rebound is set in America and is about an almost 30 year old woman, Perla Mercurio and a doctor, Matthias Keene who have a very passionate affair...do they fall in love??? You’ll have to read to find ...
