I’ve just finished “Off to the Races” by Elsie Silver and I loved it! “Off to the Races” is the first book in the “Gold Rush Ranch” series by Elsie Silver. It’s her first cowboy romance series. She’s since had 2 other series set in a cowboy/ranch setting and is releasing another one at the moment. The first book in that one is released at the moment. I want to read them in order, although I have read both “Flawless” and “Heartless” already but that was before I knew her backlog! Now I’m starting at the beginning.  “Off to the Races” tells the story of Vaughn and Billie. Vaughn is a tough, no nonsense business man at the beginning of the story. He has to hire a new horse handler for his ranch. Billie is the person he hires. At first he’s unaware she’s a girl. I’ve just finished reading “Birthday” by Meredith Russo, and I really enjoyed it!   4 stars! “Birthday” is told in birthdays of our main characters, two teenagers called Morgan and Eric as they grow from young boys into 18 year olds. We only see scenes from their birthdays though, and one of them isn’t the boy he’s made out to be. He’s a girl. Back when this was published, in 2019, this was more a contentious point, however now - 7 years later - it’s more accepted to be trans, I feel. Not that I am trans. I just don’t see things in the news about it as much. Eric, the character that remains a boy throughout has problems with his dad. His dad is a judgemental soccer coach, who only wants for his son to succeed in what HE wants him to, while Morgan, the character who transitions throughout grows in confidence thanks to their family.   How are you all today? I hope you’re well! I’ve just finished reading A Curious Beginning, #1 in the Veronica Speedwell series by Deanna Raybourn and I really enjoyed it!  4 stars!  In A Curious Beginning, set in 1887, we start with Veronica, our FMC who is presiding over the death of her guardian Aunt Nell. She was brought up by two women, Aunt Nell and Aunt Lucy but neither of those women were family…who is her family? I’ll let you determine for yourself but that’s just the start of Veronica’s story! She’s a 24 year old, lepidopterist. She often refers to butterflies, she sees. After the funeral of Aunt Nell, Veronica is met by a mysterious character in that of Baron Maximilian von Stauffenbach or just Max. Max takes Veronica to Stoker, a recluse of a man, more intent on his discoveries and fantasies than any real world involvement. He is trying to put an elephant back together again, when they first meet for example. She is under Max’s and Stoker’s protection....

  Hey ForeverBookers,   How are you all today? I hope you’re well!  I’ve just finished reading “Terms and Conditions” by Lauren Asher and I BLOODY WELL LOVED IT!!!!! It had everything I look for in a good book and more, from the romantic tension and boy, oh boy was there a LOT of that, to the emotional/vulnerable parts that make our MC’s seem like real people.  “Terms and Conditions,” book 2 in the Dreamland Billionaires series, starts with our FMC, Iris who’s set her boss, Declan up on a date so he can get married in a convoluted ceremony, so he can claim his inheritance from his grandfather. His grandfather made separate wills for each of his grandsons. Rowan, who’s the central character of the first book, “The Fine Print” needed to find a woman to accept him. Declan needs to do that, but also marry her and have a child with her. Luckily for him, Iris already works with him so knows him very well.   Hey ForeverBookers,   Ive just finished “Majesty” by Katherine McGee and I loved it, so much so that I read it in two days…yes, you read that right, TWO DAYS!!! It was addictive, and scandalous as the first one was. More so, even!  4.5 Stars! Majesty continues the story of our four main female characters, Beatrice, the queen of America to-be, as she tries to navigate who she is as well as learn what she deeply wants as Queen of America, or WHO she wants. Samantha, Beatrice’s younger sister, who’s role it is to be seen and not heard. When she falls in love with a black man, though, what does this mean for her? Nina, who book 1 was just a student but suddenly becomes someone of import when she starts dating Ethan, the best friend of her ex, Prince Jefferson and Daphne Deighton, who is just as scandalous as in book 1, wanting to be a royal and going to whatever lengths to make sure it happens!
