Hi ForeverBookers,
I’ve finished another book in August! I really am on a reading whirlwind this month! “Learn My Lesson”by Katie Robert was fantastic. I loved everything from the character dynamics to the love scenes and more…
“Learn My Lesson” is written in a multi POV style, where we get all three of our protagonists, Meg, Hades and Hercules perspectives. This was good because we could see just how much they wanted the best for each other as well as their other, perhaps deeper desires.
4 Stars!
We start off the story with Meg who is going out one evening to escape Carver City and her beau, Hades for a while. While out, she comes across a young man called Hercules. Hercules and Meg have s*x and Hades finds out. Of course, there are other storylines too, as well as the love and s*x but they’re the dominant ones. Hades is the head of Carver City. What happens when that is threatened by his new lover’s/slave’s father? You can read for yourself!

“I want you to fuck me.” My command comes out a little breathy, but I can’t help it. Not with him filling me so perfectly.
“I am fucking you.”
I roll my hips, managing a tiny bit of delicious friction. Not enough. Not enough for what need, not for what I suspect we both need. I take his chin and hold his gaze. “Fuck me, Hercules. Hard. I promise I won’t break.”
This is Meg who’s just met Hercules, ONE of her conquests in “Learn My Lesson.” She’s a very wanton character that just wants sex basically. I liked how she took no prisoners. She just took what she wanted. We see Meg in Desperate Measures, book 1 in the “Wicked Villains” series too where she entertains Jafar and Jasmine. She was very wanton there, the main characters of that book, as well.
As the cover to Learn My Lesson suggests, Meg has TWO lovers, Hercules AND Hades! We meet Hades in “Desperate Measures”as he’s the head of Carver City, where “The Underworld,” his domain and the main setting for all the “Wicked Villains” books is. Hercules, however comes into this story. He’s a waiter at a bar that Meg attends at the beginning of the story.
“I want it to last forever. This control, this pleasure, this moment of understanding.
In the end, I am only human. Pleasure and pressure and a tiny bit of pain overwhelm me. I curse. “I’m going to come.”
“Down her throat.”
Hades words drive me on, pumping into her mouth as my balls draw up and orgasm. She drinks me down without hesitation and gives me another few pulls as if she can’t get enough. That makes two of us. Three of us.”
Hercules is enjoying the group s*x here. He likes being Hades’s and Meg’s plaything. I liked how neither of the men were afraid of each other, sexually.
From there the story takes a few turns. I was expecting some of them. Like, for example, Hades wanting Meg and Hercules both sexually. He’s very much the dominant in their love scenes as you can see above. Can he have them both? Or does his ego get in the way? I’ll let you read for yourself but it’s juicy.
“With Meg’s pleasure his focus, it’s sexy as hell. In an enemy searching for weakness? Less so.
He’s not my enemy. Not anymore.
Right?
Meg comes with a cry and a shudder that nearly dislodges my grip on her wrists. She’s beautiful all the time, but when she orgasms, it’s like the walls falling away. She’s unguarded for a few precious seconds. I love those moments. I’m learning to crave them.”
Hercules is unsure of his feelings towards Hades here. Does he just love him sexually or with his heart?
Something I didn’t expect was a war between Carver City and Olympus. Hercules comes from Olympus but he’s gone to the Underworld to see and claim Meg. His father, Zeus and Hades are at war because Hades’s wife and son were taken and killed by Zeus! Meg learns this in “Learn My Lesson.”
“Leaving Meg and Hercules in bed together was harder than I anticipated. They fit there. Like I suspected they would. We fit. The knowledge still sits strangely with me. Hercules may give himself freely and without reservation, but that’s not the man I am. I know my Meg cares deeply for him. Despite herself, perhaps, but it’s there all the same.
My feelings are a bit more complicated.
I click to bring up the video that was recorded earlier tonight. The three of us in my public office, Hercules trust up with nipple clamps and cock ring, the metal chain glinting with every movement. My cock in his mouth. Meg behind him, fucking his ass.”
Hades wants some leverage on Hercules’s father Zeus. He needs to feel in control of every situation, he is after all the dominant in every situation he’s in, as I said above. He does not expect to fall in love with Hercules. The three characters literally create a threesome where they love each other. Hades does this at first to get the leverage he needs against Zeus. It’s after they’ve had some sexual interactions that he loves Hercules just as much as Meg.
“Your son belongs to me,” is what Hades says to Zeus in one of their online chats. He means it too, in every sense of the word. I ate up their love scenes. Hades although very domineering, is loveable too. He protects what’s his. Hercules and Meg are both his! This I loved. I love it when a man claims his lover(s).
“It’s not going to bring him down, little Hercules. I may have had that ability once, but I don’t anymore. I can kill him, but I can’t dismantle his power structure.”
He went pale. “You could kill him.”
Hercules is telling Hades how to beat his father. Although Hades wants to kill Zeus, he doesn’t. I believe it’s because he can’t bring himself to hurt Hercules, the man he’s fallen for. Even though, Hercules would welcome the death of his father.
What did annoy me slightly was how Hades kept referring to Hercules as “little Hercules.” He does this over and over again after they have s*x for the first time. I get why he did it, for control but it just took me out of the story a little bit.
“He can’t penetrate the Underworld’s defenses. I’ve spent all my time here ensuring that this place is a fortress.”
“Yes. But even a fortress can’t provide for every need. We have to leave eventually. To stay tapped is to let him win.”
She’s right. “I simply need the appropriate leverage.”
“You figure that out.” She takes my hand. “In the meantime, come back to bed.”
Hades doesn’t want Zeus to be able to enter carver City, let alone The Underworld. Meg tells him that they have to leave at some point. They can’t stay trapped through fear, I believe she means. She’s still wanton, even in this more serious scene, thinking about her desires. Again, I liked how ballsy, if you like, Meg was. She got everything she wanted, and more in “Learn My Lesson.”
I’ll lastly just mention the other characters briefly that appear in “Learn My Lesson.” I’ve already said Jasmine and Jafar feature briefly. Aurora from I think, Queen Takes Rose, the last book in the Wicked Villains universe features in a few s*x scenes, as do Beast, Gaeton and Isabelle. Tink also features a little more than the rest of the side characters. I believe she’s pregnant at the end of “Learn My Lesson” too, so I’m SUPER excited to read her and Hook’s book next! The only reason I’m not giving “Learn My Lesson” the full 5 stars is because it took a little to get into and the name that Hades gave Hercules. From where Hercules came to the Underworld though, I loved the story! It was addictive!
I’m going to read a middle grade next to change it up, so stand by for my review of that book!
