And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie Review

 Hey ForeverBookers,

It doesn’t feel like any time at all since my last review, but here I am with my next…

“And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie was surprisingly really captivating! It’s a closed room murder mystery, where 10 unsuspecting people are invited to an island. We start on the train with them in separate cabins not knowing each other, and one is killed every few days or hours in some cases when they get to the island. Who kills them and why, I don’t want to spoil here, but I was captivated by/addicted to the story and I finished it in about 24 hours!

4.5 stars!

(If you don’t want to know who the murderer is don’t read the last pages of the book until you finish)!

I read “And Then Then Were None” for a few readathons. They were:

Reading Rivalry - Dammit Janet! - murders on an island certainly make me think of the word “dammit,” and worse…

Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge - A locked room mystery - “And Then There Were None”is set on a secluded island, Soldier Island. The characters can’t escape!

Spoilers Below…

“Mr Owen could only come to the island in one way.

“It is perfectly clear. Mr Owen is one of us.”

Mr Owen is the supposed killer of the 10 strangers. It’s Justice Wargrave that says this…why is the murderer killing the 10 strangers one by one? You can read for yourself, but it’s a good plot!

The murderer even goes so far as to pretend to kill themselves. It’s a very twisty plot but it was easy enough to follow. I think the length of the book helped with this too. My edition is 250 pages.

“Four frightened people were barricaded in until morning.”

This is two thirds or so through the plot, after 6 of the 10 strangers are found dead. The word “barricaded,” I believe signifies their fear as well as the word “frightened.” They don’t want to be trapped but they have no other choice!

The final death - a hanging - is made to look like a suicide because the killer wants to remain unknown. However, the chair that the last dead used to stand on to reach the noose is moved…how? I don’t want to reveal the killer but it shocked me! I had my suspicions but they were wrong.

Overall, I really enjoyed “And Then There Were None.” It really surprised me how much I enjoyed it. I’m giving it 4.5 stars because it’s not my usual genre, but for what it was, it was great!

Heartless (Chestnut Springs #2) by Elsie Silver Review

Hey ForeverBookers,   I’m back! I’ve finished another book!  “ Heartless”   by Elsie Silver was AMAZING!!!! I absolutely LOVED it!!! This is book 2 in the “Chestnut Springs” series and it’s about Cade, Rhett’s brother from “Flawless,” #1, and his romance with Willa, Summer’s, from book 1’s best friend.  I read Heartless for a few readathons  Reading Rivalry - Multiple POV - “ Heartless” is told from both Willa and Cade’s perspectives. Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge - Book set in Canada - I   believe Chestnut Springs is set in the Rockies.   Always Fully Booked “On the Cover” Reading Challenge - A Musical Instrument - A guitar ! Willa, our FMC plays guitar.  Reading the Rainbow challenge - pastel - the background of the  “ Heartless”   cover is pastel blue!  “ Heartless”   had EVERYTHING I love, an FMC who’s stuck in life, a wild, yet sensitive MMC, funny moments, cute scenes, spicy scenes, heartfelt ...

Her Majesty’s Royal Coven (HMRC #1) by Juno Dawson Review

Hey ForeverBookers, How are you all? Hope you’re good! I’ve just finished  “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  by Juno Dawson and I surprisingly really enjoyed it! I didn’t think I’d hate it but I thought it would be 3 stars, but it turns out it’s a 4 star read for me, maybe even a 4.5! It had a lot of things I like but some parts were forgettable, like the names of the lesser used characters. The plot, though was solid! I’m a character over plot person, as you’d know through reading my other reviews, but the main/most prominent character from this book, Niamh will be my favourite, I’m sure! I think that’s why I’ve rated  “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  so highly! 4 Stars! “Her Majesty’s Royal Coven”  tells the story of a coven of witches that need to save or at least help a young male witch who’s more than he seems. Niamh, who I’d say is the main character of the current witches has a twin sister called Ciara who has had her power stripped before the book starts! Why, yo...

American Royals (#1 American Royals) by Katharine McGee review

Hey ForeverBookers,   I’ve just finished American Royals by Katherine McGee and I LOVED it! If you love scandal and complicated love stories in a contemporary setting, then you will love it as well! Think a royal version of Gossip Girl and you have this book in a nutshell. American Royals follows six characters, all of the new adult age range that come together to create a story of intrigue and romance. There isn’t high action or really a plot outside of the romance which was fine with me as I really enjoy stories just focused on the romance. I appreciated how “American Royals” only focused on the six different characters. There weren’t loads of personalities to get to know, and they all followed the same pattern as they’re all from or have grown up around a certain standing in society. This made the characters easy to follow and understand. It is a character led story, without as I said, much plot.  What there is of a plot of American Royals is taken up with the ascension of ...
